We are an edtech non-profit creating access to free digital education for underserved communities through low-cost technology.

There are two main ways we do this. First, there’s the LearnCloud, our very own online, crowdsourced library of the best free digital learning resources where anyone can add, like, and share educational content.

Second, Rumie provides low-cost tablets loaded with content from the LearnCloud to underserved communities, working closely with our on-the-ground partners to tailor the materials to local needs, whether that’s a full K-12 Syrian curriculum for refugee children in Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey, or Indigenous language learning for communities of the Canadian north.

To date we have launched projects in 21 countries, with over 5,000 tablets in use and 25,000 children reached.

Our current campaign is #LearnSyria, which aims to eliminate barriers to education faced by Syrian refugee children by delivering our tablets preloaded with a full localized curriculum to Syrians in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. Be sure to check it out at LearnSyria.org.
